welcome to grakay

‘grakay’ is a working pottery studio and small gallery  located in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland near Maleny in South-East Queensland, Australia.

Kaye uses various porcelain clays to make mainly wheel-thrown functional pots. ‘Fun’ is had experimenting with other techniques such as hand-building with soft slabs and unusal decoration.

Some pots are single soda/wood fired in ‘the beast’ by Kaye and Grahame – aka ‘grakay’. Some are fired in a small gas kiln. Some special glazes require electric firing.

Examples of Kaye’s work is held in private collections and galleries around Australia and overseas.
